BAY OF ISLANDS JAZZ AND BLUES FESTIVAL

Every year jazz and blues musicians gather from all over New Zealand and overseas for the annual Bay of Islands Jazz and Blues Festival. Held in Paihia, Russell and Haruru Falls host over 150 hours of quality jazz and blues during the three-day event. There are more than 40 acts featured. Street performances, in Kawakawa - Jazz on the Steam Train, Paihia and Russell each morning add to the atmosphere of the festival. For more information see www.jazz-blues.co.nz. Here at Waitangi Holiday Park we are offering secured overnight parking, including use of full park facilities, and only a short 15 minute stroll to some of the main venues, at a special festival daily rate of $12 per adult.
RUSSELL TO PAIHIA SNORKEL SCUBA RACE 2013

Join in the fun at the 2013 Bay of Islands Snorkel Scuba Race. The day starts early with a spearfishing contest - prizes for fish caught. Put your own team in and snorkel in a relay race from picturesque Russell to Paihia beach, or just come and watch the event and enjoy this winterless north event. Children's icebreaker event starts at 1.30pm - prizes for all kids who compete.
There is a Fish auction on the village green after the races. This is a fundraising and fun event! Monies raised are donated to Paihia Fire Brigade, Russell Radio and the Coastguard. The evening concludes with an auction for some great Bay of Islands prizes, including accommodation deals, local wines, dolphin tours, beauty treatments, delicious chocolate - the prizes are awesome and endless!
